- Have a relationship with medical professionals. Dwayne Hay says that it is also important for a trainer to have a network of medical professionals, as they should never work on their own to attempt to heal fitness injuries or recommend diets or supplements.
- Have an understanding of programing. Dwayne Hay says that the best trainer will have a good understanding of programing. This means that a trainer will know to alternate which parts of the body their clients strengthen in a given session. Dwayne Hay says that a good trainer will also create a specialized program for each of their clients, depending on what they need to work on the most.
